Annual Leave Calculator

3months left in year

This tool tracks your remaining annual leave balance and tells you how many days per month you need to use to avoid losing them at year end.

Most people forget to track their leave until October, then realise they have 12 days left and nowhere to put them. This tool keeps the running total honest and tells you whether you are ahead or behind a steady pace for the year.

How pro-rata works

If you started part-way through the year, you are typically entitled to a fraction of the full annual allowance based on how much of the year remains from your start date. Enable the pro-rata option and enter your start date to see your adjusted entitlement, rounded to the nearest half day.

Questions

Does this include bank holidays?

No. Enter only your discretionary leave entitlement. If your employer includes bank holidays in your allowance, count them in your total. If they are separate, leave them out.

What does "behind" pace mean here?

Behind pace means you have used fewer days than the year's progress would suggest, so you have more to take in the remaining months. If your employer does not allow carry-over, this is the more urgent situation.
