How the shareable link works
The event name, date, and time are encoded directly into the URL as query parameters. No data is stored on our servers. When someone opens the link, their browser reads the parameters and starts the countdown. It works as long as the URL is intact.
Questions
Is the countdown in my local time?
Yes. The target date and time are treated as local time in whatever timezone the browser is set to. If you share the link with someone in a different timezone, they will see the same target time, but their browser will display it relative to their local clock.
What happens when the countdown reaches zero?
The display switches to a "done" message with the event name if you set one. There is no alarm or notification, just a quiet acknowledgment that the moment has arrived.
