Notice Period Countdown
Enter your start date and notice period to find your last working day.
Usually the day you handed in your resignation.
Last day: Thursday, October 8, 2026
A month to go. Long enough to wrap up properly, short enough to stay motivated.
This tool calculates your last working day based on when your notice period started and how long it is.
Notice periods can be confusing to calculate, especially in months. Is it the same day of the following month? Does the last day count? This tool does the arithmetic and gives you a clear final date, plus how many calendar and working days remain from today.
How we work it out
For day and week notices, we count forward from your start date by the exact number of days. For month notices, we go forward by the number of calendar months and subtract one day, so a one-month notice starting on the 1st ends on the last day of that month. Working days remaining excludes weekends only.
Questions
Does the start date count as day one?
Yes. The notice period begins on the date entered, and the final day is the last day of the notice period. If your contract specifies otherwise, adjust the start date by one day.
Are bank holidays counted as working days?
The working days count excludes weekends but not bank holidays, as these vary by country and employer. Subtract any bank holidays that fall in your notice window manually if needed.
What if my employer wants to negotiate a shorter notice?
That is between you and them. This tool just shows what the contract says. Anything negotiated on top of that is a separate conversation.
