This tool counts the number of working days between two dates, skipping weekends and optionally skipping US federal holidays.
Useful for working out project deadlines, notice periods, contract lengths, or just figuring out how many days are left until a long weekend. Calendar days and working days are very different things, especially around the holidays, and this does the counting so you don't have to.
How we work it out
We step through every day from start to end and skip any day that falls on a Saturday or Sunday. If you check the holidays box, we also skip the 11 US federal public holidays for each year in your range. The start and end dates are both included in the count.
Questions
Are the start and end dates included?
Yes. If both the start and end are working days, both are counted. If you want to exclude one of them, just move the date forward or back by one day.
Which holidays does it include?
The 11 US federal holidays: New Year's Day, MLK Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
Can I use this for non-US holidays?
Not yet. For now, uncheck the holidays box to get weekdays only, then subtract your local holidays manually.
